What lead you to oVertone?
It was in the early pandemic days, where everything was shutting down. I had platinum blonde hair with a few inches of my natural roots (dark brown) growing in and I was already really in need of a hairstylist to fix this situation. Months pass by and all I can do in a global pandemic is complain and sulk. I definitely did not want to use brown box dye on my extremely bleached hair. During this time I came across oVertone and IT CHANGED MY LIFE. On my birthday I finally decided to use the Espresso Brown Coloring Conditioner to tone my blonde hair to dark brown and finally match my roots. I HAD NO IDEA THAT’S HOW EASY IT WAS.
Tell us about your process in using oVertone:
Before trying the Espresso Brown Coloring Conditioner all over my hair, I decided to strand test. I put on my gloves and applied the Coloring Conditioner on a tiny patch of hair. I washed the patch of hair after 30 minutes and I could not believe how easy this was. It was the perfect brown I needed.
After my strand test result was so perfect, I applied the color all over my hair with gloves on, because it might stain your nails. I rinsed it off thoroughly after 30 minutes. It smells like a toning conditioner, nothing crazy! You won’t even notice it.
After I got out of the shower, I saw myself with perfectly even brown hair—it was unreal!! After bleaching my hair, my hair felt really dry and frizzy. After using oVertone, it was unbelievably smooth and had plenty of moisture. My hair felt so soft. I let it air dry and then brushed through, and that’s it. I didn’t even feel the tiniest of need to style my hair— it felt so smooth simply straight. I was surprised.
What are the biggest takeaways from your oVertone experience?
Honestly, I will NEVER EVER EVER go back to using box dye, I feel I’m truly blessed to have found oVertone. The color isn’t hard to maintain. Your hair color will fade with every hair wash, but you can maintain your hair color by being consistent with the Espresso Brown Daily Conditioner, it maintains the color and helps it last longer.
In your opinion, what makes oVertone unique?
Trust me, I’ve experimented with so many different types of box dyes, hair treatments, professional hairstylists—and I don’t feel any need to go back to them after oVertone! I recommend it to all my friends, I’ve sent a couple to my mom who has scanty white hair here and there and she’s tired of retouching her roots. oVertone has made her life so easy and her damaged hair looks so nourished and full of life.
These products are close to my heart. They’ve been a really important part of my quarantine life. It’s actually helped me get through a dark time, and given me my confidence back. Best product I found this quarantine and will definitely keep using even when I have access to professional hairstylists.
