We’re pretty proud of every oVertone product, and seeing the oVertone community embrace them is icing on the cake. But, we’d be lying if we said that winning awards and seeing oVertone celebrated in articles didn’t make us really happy too.
What’s got clients, professional colorists, and beauty editors alike so excited about us is that we look at hair color differently. We believe that you should be able to have your cake and eat it too, which is why our formulas are called conditioners, not dyes.
Overtone color conditioner is honestly so good. It’s easy to apply and at a good price; plus, the color looks rich and vibrant. I get plenty of compliments on my hair—and I’m not an expert; it’s just that intuitive. —Lucero R., 30, Nebraska
What’s the difference between a Coloring Conditioner and a dye? So glad you asked. Traditional hair dyes typically contain chemicals formulated specifically to dry and open the hair cuticle and deposit color, and oVertone conditioners contain none of those chemicals, and so can only improve hair health over time. oVertone conditioners act like a semi-permanent, deposit-only color. They don’t bleach or lighten your hair color at all — just enhance and reinvigorate your hair as it is. Our products are also completely vegan, cruelty-free, and free of ammonia, parabens, and sulfates. We also boast the benefits of our fantastic hair healthy ingredients, like avocado oil, shea butter, and coconut oil, to name just a few.
We’ve got coloring and maintenance covered. oVertone Coloring Conditioners are the ideal way to both achieve and maintain a new hair color. They are our most pigmented formulas and offer the most hydration. Coloring Conditioners can be used to apply color for the first time, then once weekly (or more, you do you!) to keep your hair color fresh. Daily Conditioners are meant to proactively fight color fade by replacing pigment lost during day to day activities, like cleansing or styling, ensuring your hair color always looks its best. Don’t need color right now? The Remedy and The Remedy for Fine Hair Colorless masks will have your hair hydration needs cared for.
…these semi-permanent hair coloring conditioners come pre-mixed in almost every color you can think of from natural browns to bright neons. Application is easy…The process feels more like applying a hair mask than dye and is less likely to leave your hair dry and crispy feeling.
It’s easy to pick a shade. We’re committed to honesty and clarity so that you can select your color with confidence, and we’re always full of ideas. Every product page shows how the color deposits on multiple hair colors – check them out in the image gallery. We also love it when our clients share their selfies – get inspired by their choices on our instagram. We want to give everyone the tools they need to get their perfect color – whatever that means for you!
In case you wanted to get really shade-specific, Overtone’s pink options include Extreme, Vibrant, Pastel Pink, Rose Gold, and Pink for Brown Hair. Yes, Overtone nailed down a formula for brunettes that works so well that it won a 2019 Best of Beauty award.
