Ever wonder what’s happening in (or on top of) the heads of oVertone’s staff? Each month, we’re getting one of our resident mermaids, unicorns, or aliens to dish on how they live boldly – and stay that way!
This month we talked to Anthony, one of our Production Aliens! He’s a key player in keeping our clients colorful – you can find him in our warehouse, mixing and bottling conditioners. In his off hours, he’s quite the swimmer, too!
What color(s) do you have on your head right now?
How did you achieve your look? Maintain it?
I used the Extreme Orange Go Deep right on my natural hair to change the color – no bleach needed! To maintain it, I use a little Extreme Orange Daily Conditioner in the shower every three days or so. Sometimes I’ll add some Extreme Red Daily to switch things up and make my hair a little bolder.
Favorite color (combo) you’ve ever rocked? Any plans for what’s next?
Extreme Orange is my favorite so far! I’m a natural redhead, so using it takes me from everyday orange to Brave status! Extreme Red is pretty cool too – it’s the first color of oVertone I used and it comes out as a dark crimson on my hair. It made me feel kind of superhero-esque!
I might try our new Extreme Silver next, to see what it looks like on my hair. I’ve tried Vibrant Silver once and it made my hair almost brown – it was an interesting change!
How long have you been dyeing your hair?
Before oVertone, I only dyed it once! When I was a kid, my sisters tried to dye my hair blonde, but something went wrong and made my hair darker. That really confused me – I still don’t know how it happened!
Best part of having fantasy hair?
Definitely the conversations it sparks, and the compliments I get! And the best part about using oVertone is how amazingly healthy it makes my hair – the conditioners make it feel awesome!
How about the most challenging part?
Getting stains on my skin when I use the Go Deep. Even though gloves are recommended when you’re using oVertone, I don’t use them much. I feel like when I wash my hair with gloves on, my hair gets really tangled.
Got any coloring or styling hacks to make working with your hair easier?
If you do get any oVertone stains on your face or neck, using warm water, soap, and a soft towel to scrub them away works great for me! For hands and arms, use hand sanitizer and a towel to scrub stains right off!
Give the mermaids, unicorns, and aliens reading this a piece of Random Bold Advice!
I need to think about this, and say something good. Hmm… Be bold, and stay that way!
That’s cheating, Anthony.
Okay, okay. Seriously… no matter what’s going on in your life or in the world, find some time to be happy!
